Hydrodynamic Response Analysis — a web application for simulating the linear and nonlinear response of marine and offshore structures, free to use.
HydRA (Hydrodynamic Response Analysis) is developed in the lab to simulate the dynamics of marine and offshore structures in an ocean environment, covering both linear and nonlinear responses to hydrodynamic forces.
It is provided free as a web application so that students and practising engineers can run fluid–structure interaction simulations and visualise the results without needing expensive hardware or licences.
What it does
- Frequency-domain panel method solver
- Time-domain and frequency-domain simulation in a single tool
- Browser-based, with an interface aimed at undergraduate students
- Validated against WAMIT for added mass, damping, diffraction forces and response amplitude operators
